Massage can benefit every animal, but is often used to help animals with certain issues. You might want to consider massage if your horse or dog has any of the following:
changes in attitude
difficulty picking up the right lead
sticky lead changes
chiropractic treatments - massage is a great aid
The frequency of massage is based upon the health of the animal and the amount of exercise/work that the animal receives. The benefits of massage are cumulative and a massage schedule will be designed based on each animal's needs and the owner's goals. Many clients receive a massage once per month to maintain flexibility and help prevent injury. Massage is not a substitute for appropriate veterinary care.
